Specialized Expertise
In a significant tribute to a space and missile program pioneer, Falcon AFB was renamed Schriever SFB on June 5, 1998, in honor of retired Gen. Bernard A. Schriever. Gen. Schriever is recognized for his groundbreaking contributions to the nation’s ballistic missile programs, earning him the title of “the father of the U.S. Air Force’s space and missile program.”
Schriever SFB stands as the professional abode for around 8,000 military and civilian personnel. The base’s impact extends beyond its gates, indirectly contributing an estimated $1.3 billion annually to the local Colorado Springs area. This underscores the base’s substantial influence on the region’s economic landscape.
Legacy EMS’s specialized expertise and on-site presence at Schriever SFB serve as a vital component of the base’s operational prowess. This collaborative effort ensures that the base’s personnel receive top-notch medical support, further enhancing the overall capabilities of Schriever SFB in advancing the nation’s space endeavors.
