Resort EMS Staff

The Medical Services Station is staffed with an Alaska EMT 3 or higher. This advanced practitioner is equivalent to the Nationally Registered Paramedics in other states in terms of competency, scope of practice, and training. Medical Protocol is adapted from widely used wilderness medicine practices and is under the oversight of an Alaskan Medical Director. Direct communications with the Legacy MedComm Center in Colorado Springs maintain a full system integration in spite of the remote location of the Medical Station.

Operations of the Medical Station are overseen by the Project Manager – Resort/Remote Medicine and managed by the National Director of Business Development for Legacy EMS, Inc.

Support Medical Services

The concept of a paramedic-staffed Urgent Care Clinic is not new. However, rarely do you see a full-service medical station, essentially with all the equipment, medications, supplies, and communications you would find in an Advanced Life Support ambulance.

Hikers, snowmobilers, mountain climbers, fishermen, hunters, tourists, and guests will be able to access the Medical Station.

Working closely with the local Emergency Medical Service, the Medical Station provides first aid, primary emergency medical care, critical medical and trauma patient stabilization and is a rendezvous location for medical helicopters and ambulances.
